How It All Began
Or “How It’s Always Been” might be a better title. Writing has always been one of the main ways that I process my life. Throughout the years I’ve written notes, poems, letters, stories, journal entries, songs, lists, blogs, and I’m sure there’s more. Out of all those, it’s seems like there’s just something significant about a letter.
There are instances when I feel like I should write a letter to a certain person. Writing allows me to collect my thoughts and communicate what I need to. Since I’m not always the best at saying what I want to while talking, writing is my saving grace at times.
Not too long ago I was reading something from Amir Tsarfati, who is a Biblical teacher, author, speaker, and more. (I highly recommend looking him up if you don’t know him!) He was encouraging followers of Christ to share our faith, and he made the point that we never really know how long we have to do that. He then went on to say that writing a letter could possibly be the best way to share.
That idea naturally appealed to me, and I kept thinking about it. A lot. And I knew there was more to it for me. So I believe God used a lifelong passion, provided a little spark from Amir, and led me to make the idea of writing letters that matter more accessible.
I realize that writing is the last thing some people want to do. I know it’s an old and outdated way to communicate, but if God puts it on your heart, I challenge you to give it a shot. You never know the difference you could make.
